P&G gets boost from overseas growth

Procter & Gamble, the biggest US consumer products company, on Thursday said it was raising prices this year to offset soaring commodity costs as it reported fourth quarter earnings up on overseas growth.

Net earnings rose 14 per cent to $3.27bn, or 98 cents a share, beating analysts’ forecasts by 1 cent. Sales rose nine per cent to $21.6bn.
