The Church of England’s early riches

The Church Commissioners, the trustees who manage the historic property assets of the Church of England, have £5.6bn under management, mostly in a mix of equity, property and vast tracts of land. Its most valuable urban and global property holdings are in Kingston upon Thames, Long Acre in London, Throgmorton Street in the City and West Drayton.

In the first quarter of the year it started lending out stock using its custodian,JPMorgan Chase, but it does not lend out UK or US stocks.
