Saudi Arabia on Wednesday sentenced a suspected militant to death and 329 others to life imprisonment or house arrest in the first trial of al-Qaeda-linked suspects in the kingdom.
The militants were found guilty of membership of “the deviant group”, Saudi Arabia’s term for al-Qaeda and its affiliates, as well aiding and abetting terrorism or travelling to “conflict areas” to join the group, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.
