GE to launch ‘green credit card’ in US

General Electric will on Wednesday try to burnish its environmental credentials with the launch of the first US credit card aimed at encouraging consumers to curb polluting activities.

The move, part of the US conglomerate’s plan to have $20bn in “green” sales by 2010, comes as a number of financial institutions look to tap into US citizens’ increased awareness of climate change.
