Mexico moves up the US agenda

President Barack Obama arrives in Mexico today for talks with Felipe Calderón, his Mexican counterpart, a day after naming a new "border tsar" to spearhead efforts to tackle illegal immigration and drug-related violence along the border.

The visit comes as Washington's relationship with Mexico has shot up the US agenda, amid constant news reports of drug-inspired violence on the south side of the border.
