European Commission ruling may hit Olympic deal

A deal to sell Olympic Airlines to a Greek-American investor group could come apart when the European Commission next week rules that the loss-making Greek carrier must repay "substantial amounts" of illegal state aid.

Those close to the inquiry say the total amount of illegal aid is expected to top €150m ($186m), relating to payments to debt-laden Olympic Airways and its successor Olympic Airlines.
