Foreign bribery inquiries may be helped

Anti-bribery investigators from the US and elsewhere could receive help from Britain in politically sensitive cases even though London controversially scrapped an inquiry into Saudi Arabian arms deals, British officials said yesterday.

Senior law-enforcement agents made the commitment in response to questioning by one of Washington's top anti-corruption officials at a key meeting of a 36-member international anti-bribery group.
