Travelodge, says its lawyer Simon Pilling, a partner at Addleshaw Goddard, is a business in a hurry.
It currently operates 20,000 rooms in 330 hotels in three countries in Europe. By 2010, it wants to deliver 50,000 rooms in the UK and by 2020 it hopes to increase that number to 70,000. “It equates to opening a new hotel every six or seven working days,” says Mr Pilling.
