Weir and Rotork up despite sales concerns

Shares in industrial pump, value and actuator makers Rotork and Weir Group both edged up on Tuesday as underlying sales growth and currency effects boosted interim profits and dividend pay-outs.

Peter France, chief executive at Rotork, said its fluid systems division that serves oil and gas customers had suffered some slowdown in order intake – down nearly 12 per cent year-on-year – although margins, sales and profits were up.
