Foreign policy: Fundamental aims are met and EU is main challenge

Twenty years after the fall of Communism, Poland has fulfilled its main foreign policy aims, with membership of Nato and the European Union and a strategic partnership with the US.

The challenge now confronting Warsaw’s policymakers is how to capitalise on what some see as the country’s best strategic position for 300 years.
