Screenwriters sign two interim deals

The union representing striking Hollywood screenwriters reached interim deals with two of the largest independent film production companies, boosting work opportunities for the scribes.

The Writers Guild of America said on Thursday that it had agreed interim deals with Lionsgate, which owns the Saw franchise, and Marvel, which is producing Iron Man.
