As with almost everything that affects Ukraine, the recent Nato summit in Bucharest has left the country’s leaders divided.

Kiev secured a promise of future membership at the meeting – but its bid to join the pre-accession Membership Action Programme (MAP) immediately was rejected, with a promise to reconsider the question at the end of the year.
