ITV and C4 face bid bother over Freeview

ITV and Channel 4, the commercial broadcasters, are facing a potential bid battle over a new Freeview channel amid surging demand on the digital television platform.

Both companies are considering multi-million pound offers for the channel, which is being sold by Crown Castle UK, the transmissions company that owns two licences for digital terrestrial television - better known as Freeview.
