PwC settles Tyco lawsuit for $225m

PwC has agreed to pay $225m to disgruntled shareholders in Tyco International to settle claims that it failed to spot a massive accounting fraud while working as the conglomerate’s auditor.

The payout is one of the biggest ever by a professional services firm and brings the total amount to be received by Tyco investors to more than $3.2bn, the largest settlement agreed by a US company and its former auditor.
