Writing a book is the worst experience on the planet. I’m working on one that’s due out in September and is titled The Forever Portfolio. Whenever I work on a book, and I’m about halfway through, I tell myself: “There is no way I’m ever going to do this again. No more books for me.” After my third book I was convinced I would never write another. Then Will Weisser and Jeffrey Krames from Penguin (part of the Pearson group, which also owns the Financial Times) called and asked if I had any proposals lying around. I lied and said “yes”.
In the meantime, I have changed my mind about writing another book – again. Since I’ve repeatedly said in this column that it’s no big deal if you share ideas, here it is. If anyone has any other items for the list below, let me know.
