A well-known Northern Ireland republican was on Friday charged with the murders of two British soldiers shot dead outside the Massareene barracks in county Antrim earlier this month as they collected a pizza delivery.
Colin Duffy, 41, faces eight charges: two of murder, five counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of firearms and ammunition. He was refused bail, with the police arguing there was risk he would reoffend, abscond or interfere with witnesses. His case is due to be heard on April 21.
