Retail hedge funds going ahead

The UK is pushing ahead with plans to open up hedge funds to retail investors, in spite of 18 months of silence and a growing European backlash against the hedge fund industry.

The Financial Services Authority first set out proposals to allow the development of retail-oriented funds of alternative investment funds (Faifs), offering greater choice and risk diversification to small investors, in March 2007.
