HSBC’s inflation-linked bond fund

An asset management subsidiary of HSBC is on course to raise $500m for what the bank says are the first emerging market funds invested exclusively in inflation-linked bonds.

Patrice Conxicoeur, who heads the Hong Kong office of Sinopia, one of the four specialist investment businesses of HSBC Global Asset Management, said he expected “half a billion [dollars] to be within reach” following the launch this month of two sister funds.
