Crude and metals achieve impressive prices in 2006

Oil prices edged lower on the last trading day of 2006 as dealers squared their books and reflected on a remarkable year for commodities.

Record prices were achieved for crude and many metals in 2006. Agricultural commodities joined the party, with corn, wheat and orange juice soaring to multi-year highs.
