Sony suffers Moody’s downgrade

The challenge facing Sony in returning to long-term profitability was highlighted on Wednesday when Moody’s downgraded the Japanese electronics company’s credit rating by one notch to A3 and said that the outlook remained negative.

The downgrade is the third by Moody’s since 2003 and, while A3 is still a solid investment grade rating, it shows the long-term decline in Sony’s financial strength.
