Warsaw Stock Exchange

While the Polish overthrow of communism may have lacked the dramatics of the storming of the Bastille or the fall of the Berlin Wall, it did lead to the creation of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, when a handful of inexperienced traders ushered in capitalism.

Adding to the revolutionary, or rather counter-revolutionary, ethos, the exchange’s first home was the top floor of the old Communist Party Central Committee headquarters in central Warsaw.
