TCI faces political attacks over CSX tactics

Lawmakers in Washington yesterday expressed deep reservations about attempts by The Children's Investment Fund, the London- based hedge fund, to increase control of US rail operator CSX, suggesting the move would threaten public safety and put US infrastructure in foreign hands.

Legislators' criticism of TCI, aired before the House transportation committee, included claims that the firm's "aggressive" investment tactics would lead to a decline in capital investment at CSX.
