Volcker report 'did not' exonerate Annan

A UN-commissioned inquiry into Kojo Annan's business dealings did not necessarily exonerate his father Kofi Annan, the UN secretary-general, senior US State Department official warned on Thursday.

“It is probably an exaggeration to say the Volcker report exonerated the secretary-general,” said Mark Lagon, deputy assistantsecretary of the bureau of international organisation affairs, during a visit to New York.
