Communist-influenced union praises consensual approach

Nicolas Sarkozy, French president, has won unlikely support from the country's biggest trade union, the communist-influenced CGT, for his consensual approach to reform, writes Peggy Hollinger in Paris.

Jean-Christophe Le Duigou, second in command at the CGT and an architect of the combative union's painful steps towards reform, praised the president for his openness to trade unions.
