Ghana to hold presidential run-off

Ghana will hold a presidential run-off on December 28 to determine who will lead the country into a new era of oil production after the two leading candidates failed to win a majority in Sunday’s poll.

Foreign observers hailed the conduct of the general elections as free and fair, raising hopes a smooth transition to a new president will show Africa can break the curse of poll-related chaos after outbreaks of violence in Kenya, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
