Bank-like rules are not justified for hedge funds

Sir, Wolfgang Munchau ("The Germans have the right idea on hedge funds", February 12) is seriously off base in his statement that the reason to regulate hedge funds is that they have become structurally similar to commercial banks, and therefore should be regulated for the same reason we regulate commercial banks.
