Carbon capture funding dispute

A proposal to boost funding for the development of carbon capture and storage technology is being opposed by Brazil and an alliance of small island states at United Nations talks on climate change.

At the talks in Poznan, Poland, governments are discussing whether carbon capture and storage projects in developing countries – which take carbon dioxide from sources such as power plants and pipe it underground for long-term storage – should be eligible for carbon credits.
