Clorox to launch 'green' detergent

Clorox, the US company whose flagship brand is chlorine bleach, is launching a plant-based "natural" laundry detergent, underlining the continued move by large consumer companies into premium "green" products despite the recession.

Don Knauss, chief executive, described the new detergent as aimed at a "super-premium" area, which it believed was comparatively immune to economic concerns.
