Market Insight: Europe left trailing in derivatives

The growth of derivatives trading showed a marked split in the second quarter, with the US continuing to surge but Europe declining, according to the Bank for International Settlements.

While the first quarter was strong for both regions, investors turned more to the US in the second quarter as the direction of US interest rates remained unclear.
