The feared deluge of audit judgments flagging up problems at Britain’s biggest companies has not materialised, according to research by two of the Big Four audit firms.
Regulators, investors and auditors began warning last year that the combination of a slowing economy and the struggle to access funding could lead to a rash of “emphasis of matter” paragraphs in audit reports, signalling some doubt as to whether that company could continue as a going concern.
