As Gadonneix’s star wanes, others eye EDF job

It is never fun being a lame duck, but the last few weeks must have been particularly difficult for Pierre Gadonneix, executive chairman of France’s electricity monopoly, EDF.

Mr Gadonneix, whose mandate at the head of the world’s biggest nuclear operator comes to an end in November, has been written off by the French media as a debate over his succession is played out in the news pages and on the airwaves.
