Retailers call for supply cover

British retailers have called for the government to extend its scheme to provide supply chain insurance beyond the end of the year after the vast majority said it had not worked so far.

According to the British Retail Consortium’s quarterly survey on credit conditions, 85 per cent of large retailers and 95 per cent of smaller ones said the government’s plan had not helped maintain the supply of goods to their businesses.
