Home loan data confirm UK housing slowdown

The number of mortgage approvals in the UK fell to its lowest level in more than nine years in November, the Bank of England said on Tuesday.

In the latest evidence that the housing market is slowing down sharply, the Bank said the number of home loans fell from 85,000 in October to 77,000 in November, the lowest since September 1995.
