Signs of a steady recovery in demand for high tensile, heat resistant plastic helped advance shares in Victrex on Thursday as the Lancashire-based polymer maker said it would ramp up production following a strong fourth quarter.
The company’s confidence in expanding output ahead of Christmas in is contrast to last year, when a collapse in demand prompted its share price to fall by 30 per cent in a single day following a gloomy update on its trading situation in December.
