Guardian newspapers to cut jobs

Up to 10 per cent of staff at the Guardian and Observer newspapers are likely to lose their jobs, the group’s editor-in-chief, Alan Rusbridger, told staff on Wednesday.

Given the overall headcount of 1,700, the redundancies could exceed 150, according to trade unions and senior executives.
