Mondi sees sharp deterioration in trade

Mondi, a leading international producer of paper and packaging, is expecting underlying profits to fall by up to 15 per cent this year after a sharp deterioration in third-quarter trading.

The company, spun out of Anglo American, the mining group, last year, blamed “the recent worsening of the global economic outlook” for the warning as it brought forward a trading update scheduled originally for Friday.
