Education saving claim attacked

MPs today accuse the Department of Education and Skills of redefining the concept of money in order to claim it will save £4.3bn in efficiencies as part of the Gershon report on government spending.

In a critical report, the Commons education and skills committee says most of the apparent savings will not lead to money being freed up for other activities.
