Lenovo, the Chinese company that acquired IBM's personal computer unit in 2005, yesterday said it was open to making further acquisitions but finding takeover targets was not a top priority.
The comments by Bill Amelio, chief executive, follow Lenovo's failure to buy Packard Bell, the European PC maker, last month. Taiwanese rival Acer won control of Packard Bell as part of its planned $710m purchase of US PC producer Gateway.
