Fall in company start-ups highlights recession

Britain’s rapid lurch into recession is highlighted by figures which show the lowest level of company start-ups since the dotcom crash of 2001.

Companies House data obtained by the Financial Times shows that only 23,871 limited companies were set up in November, a drop of 34 per cent since the same month two years ago.
