The first independent analysis of official pandemic flu preparations across Europe has found serious gaps in some national plans and big variations between countries.

The Czech Republic, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Poland and Portugal were the least prepared of the countries surveyed by the London School of Hygiene. Few countries’ plans addressed the need to collaborate with neighbouring countries.
