Tehran receives two-week deadline to stall UN talks

The six world powers that negotiate with Iran over its nuclear programme warned Tehran yesterday that it had two weeks to present a new proposal if it wanted to stop the United Nations from debating economic sanctions, writes James Blitz .

Iran said earlier this week that it was ready to resume talks with the six powers on the atomic programme, saying it had formulated an "updated nuclear proposal".
