Lebedev also in talks with INM about purchase

Alexander Lebedev, the former KGB agent bidding for control of London’s Evening Standard, has also held talks with Independent News and Media about a possible offer for its national UK newspapers, The Independent and The Independent on Sunday.

Discussions are active, but contingent on the outcome of Mr Lebedev’s discussions with Daily Mail & General Trust, the Evening Standard’s owner, according to one person familiar with the negotiations.
