White Nile raises £7m in placing

Shares in White Nile rose 4½p to 119p after the oil and gas exploration company operating in South Sudan raised £7m through a "non-brokered" private placing at 100p a share.

The proceeds of the placing will be used for exploration of White Nile's Block Ba licence area in South Sudan and followed the appointment of Terra Seis Geophysical to conduct an extensive seismic evaluation of the block.
