UK Shoppers have been flocking to Britain’s high streets, helping retail sales grow at their fastest pace in two years and underpinning optimism about trading in the critical pre-Christmas period, according to the latest survey from the CBI.
The CBI’s monthly and quarterly distributive trades survey found a balance of 13 per cent of retailers reporting higher sales this month than a year ago – the second consecutive month of rising sales. A balance of 19 per cent said they expected sales to rise further in the remainder of this year.
