TeliaSonera toughens grip on Baltic investments

TeliaSonera, the largest Nordic telecoms operator, on Tuesday said it had secured nearly full control of Estonia’s Eesti Telekom and two-thirds of Lithuania’s TEO after launching buy-out bids for its two ­Baltic units in August.

The announcement marked a step forward in efforts by the Swedish ­company to strengthen its grip on investments in the Baltic region and other emerging markets.
