From Mr Ian Gary.
Sir, Matthew Green’s article “Crude realities: Can Ghana escape Africa’s oil curse?” (Analysis, August 28) encapsulates many of the risks that oil poses to Ghana’s enviable recent record of good governance and stability. I have just returned from a research trip to Ghana focused on the government's preparations for the coming oil boom. Local civil society groups are concerned that key information is not being disclosed and that important policy decisions will be made behind closed doors.
