Crisis casts shadow over anniversary

This year should have been one of celebration for Poland, as the country marks five years of European Union membership, 10 years of Nato accession and 20 years of freedom after the fall of Communism.

But despite the huge gains of the past two decades, the global financial crisis casts a long shadow over the anniversary year.
