Dodd eyes Senate health committee post

Chris Dodd, the Democrat leading the Senate banking committee, is expected to take on the healthcare role of his late friend Edward Kennedy in a move that advocates of financial reform warn could disrupt the passing of crucial legislation.

Friends say he will opt to take Kennedy’s chairmanship of the Senate health committee, probably in time for the address on the issue by President Barack Obama to Congress on Wednesday.
