Avoid too much heat and light in energy policies

When he launched the government’s energy review, Alan Johnson, the trade and industry secretary, said a do-nothing option did not exist. Action is certainly required. But we do not need over-reaction. Measured policies to refine – rather than radically change – the ways in which we produce and use energy in the UK should be enough to meet the challenge.
