European finance ministers expressed concern yesterday about the deteriorating economic growth outlook in the 15-nation eurozone and voiced hope that the US auth-orities would act promptly to prevent recession.
"We are following events on a daily basis," said Andrej Bajuk, the finance minister of Slovenia, which holds the European Union's rotating presidency. "We are all concerned. We hope things will not be as bad as they may look and as some commentators fear."
